I was certified to teach qigong in the summer of 2025 by Nick Loffree after several years of casual practice and an intensive training program. I had been a vipassana practitioner for over fifteen years, and was drawn to qigong for its mindful approach to movement and a need to address my physical health. I found a mind-body practice that is capable of meeting everyone exactly where they are.
Unlike most other forms of exercise, qigong has psychological and philosophical dimensions that make it deeply meaningful to me. I’ll always be a student of qigong first and foremost, but one with a passion for sharing the practice with others.
Alongside my life as a qigong practitioner, I am a musician and certified recording and mix engineer (Lexington School for Recording Arts). I hold a BA in visual art (Otterbein College). I currently live in the Dayton, OH area with my wonderful wife, daughter, and Yorkshire terrier, Nigel.
It is truly amazing what can be learned via the internet. I, myself, have benefited immensely from on-line training. As an instructor, however, I hope to bring people from my community together to practice this discipline in shared real-world spaces, rather than uploading classes to the internet. I believe that building social connections around meaningful activities and endeavors makes for stronger communities and a healthier society. I hope you’ll join me.
